First National Bank & Trust Company of Clinton, IL

FNB Online Security

At First National Bank & Trust Company, we take computer security very seriously.  Computer security means much more to us than just protecting against viruses.  There are many general rules to follow when e-mailing, browsing, shopping, or banking online.  All of these can help protect your computer and your identity.  In order to take full advantage of the many banking resources and conveniences online, it is important that you use the latest security techniques, your software remains up to date, that your virus protection is current, and you follow some best practices.  We have provided some information below relating to best practices and some helpful links.

FNB Online Banking uses Multifactor Authentication!
Multifactor Authentication is an industry response to the ever increasing tactics & resources of fraudsters online.  A user ID and password is no longer all it will take to login to internet banking, you must also have a second form of identification.  At First National Bank, that second piece is the computer you are logging in from.  Your login behavior will help us to identify what computers can access your online banking.  Access at any other machine will require further verification of your identity.  In short, a fraudster must now steal your user ID, password, & computer to be able to login as you!  See the Login Security portion of our website for more information.
